Member Terms
Effective September 28, 2026 · Version 2026-09-launch-v2
1. Membership and entitlements
Decipher & Atlas Media Inc. (“D&A”) offers Observer, Ambassador and Founder Navigator memberships. Access is limited to the features and materials assigned to the member’s current entitlement. Orbital Navigator and Deep-Space Navigator are future Quest levels; they are not purchased or automatically unlocked through membership payment.
Constellation Navigator is institutional access for eligible organizations. An institutional enquiry is not enrollment, checkout, an invoice or a binding quote. Eligibility, seats, price, procurement, privacy responsibilities and access terms are confirmed separately in writing.
2. Eligibility, youth access and accounts
Individual member accounts are available to people aged 18 or older and, where enabled by D&A, to people aged 16–17 through verified guardian co-consent. A 16–17-year-old account remains pending until an authorized guardian completes the required verification through a single-use link within 72 hours. Entering a guardian name or email address does not itself provide consent. Individual enrollment under 16 is not available. Supervised institutional participation may be arranged through Constellation access.
Members must provide accurate account information, use one account for one person, protect credentials and promptly report suspected unauthorized access. Credential sharing, access-control circumvention, malicious automation, interference with the service and unauthorized systematic extraction are prohibited.
3. Observer, Ambassador and Founder
Observer enrollment is free during the stated founding enrollment window. Ambassador is an annual paid membership. Before any Ambassador checkout is completed, D&A will display the current price, applicable taxes, renewal terms, cancellation method and any material restrictions. Any future recurring arrangement will apply only on terms disclosed and accepted at checkout.
Founder is a one-time founding offer during the stated Founder window. “Lifetime Ambassador access” means non-transferable Ambassador-level access for the member while the applicable D&A membership service continues to operate, subject to these terms, account standing and lawful service changes. It does not create an ownership interest or a transferable entitlement.
4. Checkout, acceptance and records
Paid membership access begins once your payment is confirmed. Before payment, the member must be able to review the selected membership, price, taxes where applicable, renewal or one-time status, cancellation and refund information, and the terms being accepted. D&A records the accepted terms and privacy versions with the transaction or account record and provides a retainable confirmation of the completed purchase.
5. Cancellation, renewal and refunds
A recurring Ambassador membership may be cancelled through the payment-management method made available by D&A or by contacting admin@deciphernews.ca. Cancellation of renewal is different from closing an account or requesting deletion of personal information. Cancellation does not remove obligations already incurred.
Any advance-renewal notice, cancellation right, refund, reversal or other remedy required by applicable consumer law remains available regardless of these terms. Any additional voluntary refund policy will be disclosed before checkout.
6. Community participation and member contributions
Use of Observatory Commons and other participatory areas is subject to the Community Guidelines. Members retain ownership of original material they submit. By submitting material for display in a D&A participatory area, the member grants D&A a non-exclusive, limited permission to host, reproduce, format and display that material as necessary to operate, secure and moderate the relevant feature. This permission ends when the material is removed, except for copies reasonably retained for security, legal, audit or dispute purposes.
7. Moderation, suspension and termination
D&A may restrict, hide or remove content, or temporarily restrict an account, when reasonably necessary to enforce the Community Guidelines, protect people or systems, comply with law or preserve platform integrity. Serious or repeated violations may result in suspension or termination. Where reasonably practicable and lawful, D&A will provide notice of a consequential account action and a way to request review. Paid-member remedies remain subject to applicable law and the circumstances of the action.
8. Intellectual property and permitted use
Decipher & Atlas publications, reports, indices, taxonomies, classifications, analytical frameworks, models, defined terminology, visual designs, software, databases, and other original materials are owned by or licensed to Decipher & Atlas Media Inc. and may be protected by applicable copyright, trademark, trade-secret, contract, and other intellectual-property laws. Decipher & Atlas™ identifies the Decipher & Atlas brand. Where identified, R.N. Crawford is the author or byline associated with the relevant work.
Membership or access to the website does not transfer ownership of any Decipher & Atlas intellectual property. Publicly released material may be read, quoted or cited in accordance with applicable law and appropriate attribution, and may be shared by linking to the original public page unless otherwise stated.
Unless permitted by applicable law or authorized in writing by Decipher & Atlas Media Inc., users may not reproduce or republish substantial portions of protected material; resell or commercially redistribute it; systematically scrape, copy or extract site content; create datasets from protected content; use protected content for artificial-intelligence model training, fine-tuning or evaluation; reverse engineer or extract non-public analytical methods, classification architecture or software; or circumvent access, technical or membership restrictions.
References on this site to Decipher & Atlas frameworks, taxonomies, models, classification architecture, defined terminology and intellectual architecture identify original organizational materials and methods associated with the platform. Such notices do not claim exclusive copyright in abstract ideas, facts, concepts or methods beyond the rights available under applicable law.
Requests for licensing, republication or other authorized uses may be sent to admin@deciphernews.ca.
9. Privacy and communications
Personal information is handled under the Member Privacy Notice. Essential account, security, guardian-verification, transaction and service messages may be sent as necessary to operate the membership. Optional Watch notices and promotional communications remain separate preferences and may be withdrawn as described in the Privacy Notice or message controls.
10. No professional advice
D&A provides public research, educational material, verification and systems analysis. Its public systems intelligence connects historical context with changing conditions and emerging trajectories; assessments are bounded by their stated scope, dates and available evidence and may be revised. A trajectory is an assessed direction of change, not a guaranteed prediction. It is not legal, financial, medical or investment advice, and membership does not create a professional-client relationship.
11. Availability and changes
D&A may maintain, improve, retire or replace features as the service develops. A material change that adversely affects a paid subscription, these terms or privacy practices will be communicated with the notice, consent, cancellation or other rights required by applicable law. D&A will not rely on this section to remove mandatory consumer rights.
12. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by applicable laws of British Columbia and Canada, subject to mandatory consumer protections and any law that must apply in the member’s circumstances. Membership, cancellation, privacy or account questions can be sent to admin@deciphernews.ca.
